Coach suspends football players

For being blood doners.I can't believe this crap.Says the kids couldn't practice as well while giving blood.That is about stupid of that coach.And I misssed what school they were from.Can it get much worse?

sounds like it's not fair to the kids, but there's two sides to every story. i'd wait til i hear the coach's side before i flog him.

I know what your saying.But he had a chance to explain to the parents and seems to me that all he wanted to do is turn his back on them and not answer any of their questions.He wouldn't give them any explanation.I just can't see any reason why a coach would be against their players donating blood.

i wouldn't answer either if i had parents shouting at me in front of tv cameras. would you? i ain't saying he's right, just saying let the whole story unfold before you crucify him. he may be guilty of wrong doing.

since we are on this, you folks from pound have complained about players playing on friday night that didn't practice every day of the week....how would you handle this situation and playing time?

donating blood makes you pretty weak, it was probably for their safety that they couldnt practice. but a full suspension? thats kind of ridiculous.

Of course, knowing the way some high schoolers are, they may have done it just to be getting out of practice and word got out to the coach. That is very deserving of a suspension. I remember a couple of guys tried chugging a gallon of milk real quick before practice one time hoping to vomit so they could cut loose early. It didnt work, and they just felt horrible the whole practice.

Uhh if they don't practice...they don't play is how I would handle it.Let the other kids play, practice and playing time is what makes them better.And yes if I were a coach and had a problem with the boys giving blood...I would have an explanation.On or off camera.He put himself in the position to be judged by not giving an explanation when the chance was givin.He knew parents was gonna want answers to his poor decision.And as far as the practice and playing time issue at Pound...It has improved.

I donated blood for the first time this pastt April. It didn't affecct me that much probably because I am used to getting blood drawn because I have to every visit to the doctor. But this one girl who went before me, no names, passed out. Her mother had to come and get her from school too.

It was for their safety that they didn't practice. You have to bring your blood sugar back up after doding that. And it would probably be a good idea to drink more juices as well.

A full suspension for that is just b.s.
